Chain Block – Lift Easy

What Is a Chain Block?

A Chain Block — also known as a chain hoist, manual chain hoist, chain fall, hand chain block, or chain pulley block — is a manually operated overhead lifting device that uses a hand chain to drive a gear mechanism and load chain to lift and lower heavy loads vertically. The operator pulls down on the hand chain to raise the load and controls the load chain brake to lower the load in a controlled manner. Chain blocks are the standard manual overhead lifting solution for workshops, factories, construction sites, and industrial maintenance operations worldwide.

The Lift Easy Chain Block range — models CB0.5T through CB10T — covers capacities from 0.5 tonnes to 10 tonnes with standard lift heights from 3 m (light models) to 5 m (heavy models), alloy steel load chain, CE and GS certification, and a 4:1 safety factor. The reliable, cost-effective overhead lifting solution for workshops, factories, warehouses, and construction sites across Dubai, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar, Bahrain, and Kuwait.

Description

The Lift Easy Chain Block is a CE and GS certified, manually operated overhead lifting device built for reliable, daily performance in the full range of GCC construction, manufacturing, workshop, and industrial maintenance environments. The precision gear mechanism provides a high mechanical advantage — allowing one operator to lift loads up to 10 tonnes using a continuous hand chain pull action, without electrical power, hydraulics, or pneumatics.

The alloy steel load chain is the critical load-bearing component of the chain block — manufactured from Grade 80 alloy steel and proof tested before supply. Grade 80 alloy steel provides the optimal combination of high tensile strength, fatigue resistance, and flexibility needed for a load chain that must be flexed repeatedly through the block mechanism millions of times over its service life. The 4:1 safety factor on the Lift Easy Chain Block means the load chain and hook assembly are tested to four times the rated WLL — providing a substantial safety margin above the working load in normal industrial use.

The automatic self-locking brake holds the load at any position in the lift without the operator needing to hold the hand chain. Once the hand chain pull stops, the brake engages automatically — locking the load chain and preventing load descent. This automatic braking is a fundamental safety feature of chain blocks — it allows the operator to pause the lift, release the hand chain, and perform other tasks without the load descending.

As a trusted chain block supplier, distributor, and manufacturer in Dubai, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar, Bahrain, and Kuwait, Lift Easy delivers certified chain hoisting solutions with full technical support and regional delivery.

Key Features

  • Capacity Range 0.5T–10T: Eight models from CB0.5T to CB10T covering all overhead lifting requirements from light workshop use through to heavy construction and industrial lifting applications.
  • Alloy Steel Load Chain — 4:1 Safety Factor: Grade 80 alloy steel load chain proof tested to 4x rated WLL — high tensile strength, fatigue resistance, and long service life for daily heavy-duty overhead lifting.
  • CE and GS Certified: Both CE and GS certified — accepted for HSE compliance documentation on major GCC construction, oil and gas, and industrial project sites requiring certified lifting equipment.
  • Automatic Self-Locking Brake: Load is held securely at any position without operator effort — the automatic brake engages immediately when hand chain pull stops, preventing load drift or descent.
  • Compact Low-Profile Body: Low-profile body minimises headroom loss — maximising the available hook height below the chain block in low-clearance workshops, warehouses, and under beam structures.
  • Efficient Hand Chain Operation: Smooth, low-effort hand chain pull with high gear ratio — one operator can lift rated loads with minimal physical effort across repeated daily lift cycles.
  • 360-Degree Rotating Hooks: Both top suspension and bottom load hooks rotate freely — allowing the chain block to be positioned to match the natural rigging geometry without twisting or binding.
  • Standard Lift Heights 3–5 m: Standard 3 m lift for light models (0.5T–3T) and 5 m for heavier models — extended lift chains available on request for deeper lifts in tall building or pit applications.

Use of the Product

  • Suspend the chain block from a suitably rated overhead beam, girder, crane hook, or beam clamp at the lift position
  • Attach the bottom load hook to the load using certified slings, shackles, or lifting fittings rated for the load weight
  • Pull the hand chain downward continuously to raise the load — the gear mechanism converts hand chain movement to load chain lift
  • To lower, engage the lowering direction and pull the hand chain to allow the load to descend in controlled increments
  • The automatic brake locks the load at any position when the hand chain pull stops — safe for pausing the lift at any height
  • Lower the load fully to the ground before releasing the load hook from the load — never release the hook with load suspended
  • Store the chain block with the load chain clean and dry — lubricate the load chain periodically to maintain performance

Applications

  • Workshops and Maintenance Facilities — Daily overhead lifting for engine removal, machinery maintenance, component handling, and equipment positioning at automotive and industrial workshops across Dubai and the UAE
  • Construction and Civil Projects — Lifting and positioning structural steel, precast concrete elements, formwork, and construction materials on building and infrastructure projects across Saudi Arabia and Qatar
  • Warehouses and Factory Floors — Overhead lifting of heavy goods, machinery components, and materials between floor and elevated positions in warehouses and manufacturing plants across Oman and Bahrain
  • Oil and Gas Facilities — Lifting equipment, valves, pumps, and structural components during installation, maintenance, and shutdown operations at refineries and petrochemical plants across Kuwait and Saudi Arabia
  • Shipbuilding and Marine — Overhead lifting of ship sections, marine machinery, and structural components during ship construction and repair at GCC shipyards and marine facilities
  • Mining and Heavy Industry — Heavy-duty overhead lifting in surface and underground mining, quarrying, and heavy industrial operations requiring reliable manual hoist performance across all GCC markets

Frequently Asked Questions

Q1. What is a chain block used for?

  • Lifting, lowering, and suspending heavy loads vertically from an overhead structure in workshops, factories, warehouses, and construction sites
  • Engine removal, machinery installation, and component handling in automotive and industrial maintenance workshops
  • Lifting structural steel, precast elements, and construction materials on building and civil infrastructure projects
  • Overhead lifting in oil and gas facilities, shipyards, and manufacturing plants during installation and maintenance operations

Q2. What models are available and what are their capacities?

  • Eight models from CB0.5T (0.5 tonne) to CB10T (10 tonnes) covering all manual overhead lifting requirements
  • Standard lift heights from 3 m (CB0.5T to CB3T) to 5 m (CB5T to CB10T) — extended chains available on request
  • Select based on the maximum load weight to be lifted; always select the model capacity above the load weight

Q3. How does the automatic brake work?

  • The self-locking brake mechanism engages automatically whenever the hand chain pull stops — locking the load chain at the current position
  • No manual brake operation is required — the load is held securely at any height without the operator needing to hold the chain
  • To lower, the operator operates the hand chain in the lowering direction — the brake releases incrementally to allow controlled descent

Q4. What certifications do the Lift Easy Chain Blocks carry?

  • CE certification confirming compliance with European machinery and lifting equipment directives
  • GS certification from independent German safety testing — both are accepted on major GCC industrial and construction project sites
  • Alloy steel load chain is manufactured to Grade 80 standard and proof tested to 4x WLL before supply

Q5. What is the difference between a chain block and a lever block?

  • A chain block uses a hand chain pulled downward for vertical overhead lifting — best for straightforward vertical lift applications
  • A lever block uses a short lever handle that can operate at any angle — best for confined spaces, horizontal pulling, and angled rigging
  • Both are manually operated; the chain block is simpler and faster for pure vertical lifts; the lever block is more versatile for confined and angled applications
