Webbing Sling – Lift Easy
What Is a Webbing Sling?
A Webbing Sling — also known as a flat webbing sling, polyester lifting sling, flat lifting sling, textile sling, or synthetic lifting sling — is a flat or round synthetic fibre lifting sling manufactured from woven polyester webbing and used to connect loads to overhead crane and hoist hooks for lifting. Webbing slings are preferred over chain and wire rope slings where the load surface must be protected from damage — the flat, soft polyester surface wraps conformingly around the load without the point contact and surface marking caused by chains and wire ropes.
The Lift Easy Webbing Sling range — models LEFS-1 through LEFS-12 — covers capacities from 1 tonne to 12 tonnes, certified to EN 1492-1:1997 with a 7:1 safety factor, colour-coded for instant capacity identification, and CE certified. The complete polyester webbing sling range for lifting, rigging, and load securing across Dubai, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar, Bahrain, and Kuwait.
Description
The Lift Easy Webbing Sling is a CE certified, EN 1492-1:1997 standard polyester flat lifting sling manufactured to the most demanding construction, industrial, and offshore lifting requirements across the GCC. The high-tenacity polyester webbing provides excellent strength-to-weight ratio — webbing slings are significantly lighter than equivalent-capacity chain and wire rope slings, reducing the rigging burden on operators while maintaining the full rated lifting capacity.
The 7:1 safety factor is the highest safety factor available for synthetic lifting slings under EN 1492-1 — the standard certification for flat webbing lifting slings in Europe and internationally. At 7:1, the sling breaking strength is seven times the rated Working Load Limit — providing a very substantial safety margin above the working load for real-world lifting conditions including dynamic loading, shock loading, and the angular load multiplication that occurs when slings are used in multi-leg basket configurations.
The colour-coded identification system is a mandatory requirement of the EN 1492-1 standard — each WLL capacity is assigned a specific colour that appears on the sling label and edge stitching, allowing riggers to identify the correct sling capacity instantly in field conditions without reading labels in poor lighting or dusty environments. This eliminates the risk of using an incorrectly-rated sling and is a fundamental site safety requirement on major GCC construction, oil and gas, and industrial project sites.
As a trusted webbing sling supplier, distributor, and manufacturer in Dubai, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar, Bahrain, and Kuwait, Lift Easy delivers certified rigging solutions with full technical support and regional delivery.
Key Features
- Capacity Range 1T–12T: Twelve models from LEFS-1 to LEFS-12 covering all lifting and rigging requirements from light workshop use to heavy construction and industrial lifting across GCC operations.
- CE Certified — EN 1492-1:1997: Certified to the international standard for flat polyester lifting slings — accepted for HSE compliance on major GCC construction, oil and gas, and industrial project sites.
- 7:1 Safety Factor: The highest safety factor for synthetic lifting slings — breaking strength is 7× the rated WLL, providing maximum safety margin in real-world industrial lifting conditions.
- Colour-Coded by Capacity: International EN 1492-1 colour coding — purple (1T), green (2T), yellow (3T), grey (4T), red (5T), orange (10T/12T) — instant capacity identification eliminates misidentification errors on site.
- Polyester Webbing — Soft Load Protection: Flat polyester webbing surface wraps conformingly around the load — no point contact, no surface marking, protecting coated, painted, and delicate load surfaces during lifting.
- Chemical Resistance: Polyester fibre is resistant to most alkalis and many acids — suitable for use in chemical, petrochemical, and industrial environments across the GCC.
- Low Stretch Under Load: High-tenacity polyester has very low elongation at rated load — providing predictable, stable rigging geometry throughout the lift without the load creep of lower-quality synthetic fibre slings.
- Lightweight — Easy to Handle and Store: Significantly lighter than chain and wire rope slings of equivalent capacity — reducing operator fatigue during rigging and enabling easy transport to elevated and confined rigging locations.
Use of the Product
- Select the correct webbing sling based on the load weight and rigging configuration (straight, basket, choker)
- Inspect the sling for cuts, tears, abrasion, chemical staining, and UV degradation before each use
- Attach the master loop to the crane hook — ensure the hook safety latch is closed
- Wrap the sling around the load or attach to the load lifting points in the required rigging configuration
- Ensure the sling bears evenly across the full width — not twisted, kinked, or bunched
- Lift slowly and check sling position and balance before raising to full height
- Lower the load and remove the sling — inspect again after each heavy or demanding lift
- Store slings clean, dry, and away from UV exposure, sharp objects, and chemical contamination
Applications
- Construction and Civil Projects — Lifting structural steel, precast elements, glass, cladding panels, and construction materials at building and civil infrastructure projects across Dubai and the UAE

Frequently Asked Questions
Q1. What is a webbing sling used for?
- Connecting loads to overhead crane and hoist hooks for lifting — in construction, manufacturing, marine, and general industrial rigging applications
- Providing soft, non-marking load support for coated, painted, polished, and delicate load surfaces where chain and wire rope would cause surface damage
- Multi-leg and basket rigging configurations for large, irregular loads requiring balanced, multi-point load support during overhead lifting
- The standard synthetic lifting sling on GCC construction sites, oil and gas projects, and industrial facilities requiring certified soft rigging solutions
Q2. What is the difference between webbing slings and chain slings?
- Webbing slings: soft polyester, lightweight, load surface protective, limited to 100°C max, not suitable for sharp edges or high temperatures; 7:1 safety factor
- Chain slings: all-steel, suitable for up to 200°C, sharp edges, abrasive surfaces, and chemical environments; heavier, more durable in harsh conditions; 4:1 safety factor
- Select webbing slings for loads requiring surface protection and moderate lifting environments; chain slings for heavy industrial, high-temperature, and abrasive applications
Q3. What do the colour codes mean?
- The EN 1492-1:1997 standard mandates colour coding to identify sling WLL — purple (1T), green (2T), yellow (3T), grey (4T), red (5T), brown (6T), blue (8T), orange (10T and 12T)
- The colour appears on the sling label and edge stitching — enabling riggers to identify the correct sling capacity instantly in field conditions without reading labels
- Always verify the colour code and label before use — never use a sling that cannot be positively identified by its colour code and CE marking
Q4. What is the 7:1 safety factor?
- The safety factor means the sling breaking strength is 7 times the rated Working Load Limit — for a 1T WLL sling, the breaking strength is at least 7 tonnes
- This high safety factor accounts for dynamic and shock loading, angular load multiplication in multi-leg configurations, and real-world sling condition variation
- The 7:1 factor is the highest available for synthetic slings under EN 1492-1 — providing maximum safety margin in demanding GCC industrial lifting conditions
Q5. When should a webbing sling be retired?
- Any sling showing cuts, tears, abrasion through the surface fibres, chemical staining, or UV colour fading should be removed from service immediately
- Slings that cannot be positively identified by colour code and CE marking — due to label damage or colour fading — must be retired
- Never repair or splice a damaged webbing sling — retire and replace; a repaired sling has no certified WLL and must never be used for overhead lifting
